Hey, That's Not Very PC...
While we aren't sure if phone web browsing will ever compare to a 17 inch screen, they do have a reasonable point. E-Mail and instant messaging-type communication account for a large part of computer use these days, both of which are easily accomplished on phones. Word processing and web browsing could, with practice and the correct interface, also become practical.
So now that computers are going to be completely mobile, and conceivably networked for cheap or for free, an amazing new world of possibilities opens up to the designer. Now that the tools for making the Internet are so portable, the Internet can become a real part of everyday life, not just a place you go when you're sitting in your room. Maybe it's time to re-visit those ridiculous early wearable computing concepts. But now there's no need to store everything on the computer, since the phone is more like a portal to the internet. Just imagine the possibilities.
