If you're feeling a little left out of the successes surrounding Scaled Composites's triumph in the X-Prize competition, then your days may be looking up. The World Technology Network and X-Prize foundation are soliciting concepts for the next string of X-Prize-style contests designed to push people to solve the "holy grail" problems of the world. With ideas like cures for cancer, true molecular assemblers and the UN Millennium Development Goals, it seems like now is the time for designers to get in there. After all, ever one of these problems can't be solved without understanding the human element, and that's our bag.
